Juming, a Taiwanese sculptor renowned internationally, established this museum in 1999. At the beginning, he was only trying to find a place to store his large sculptures, but was later inspired by the natural surrounding of Jinshan, and decided to build a park of art, not just to display his works, but also to serve as a venue for creativity of artists.
The 11-hectare park was carefully planned and designated for displays of the major works in the different phases of the artist’s career. The outdoor exhibition space is divided into Taiji Plaza, Human World Square, and Sport Square. The sculptures of his Taiji series, regarded as the best and most famous of his works, are displayed in Taiji Plaza. Besides, the building of the museum is pyramid-shaped, a work of art in itself, displaying indoors his works of woodcarving and pottery as well as works by his mentors and some important documents. The whole park is a work of art for appreciation, inspiration, and recreation.
