About eight years ago, Mr. Andreas Forster, from Nuremberg, Germany, opened a Beer Garden on a hill by Balien River, Sanzhi, to provide authentic German food and beer. It soon attracted a lot of customers and was later renamed Smoky Inn. Because of limited space and booming business, Mr. Forster moved the restaurant to Zhongxing Street in downtown Sanzhi, 100 meters from Provincial Highway No.2, a very convenient location for gourmets.
Smoky Inn is listed among the “Best 100 Restaurants in Taiwan” in Isacs Guide 2011-2012, and is truly one of the best choices for those who love German food and beer.
