"Bicycle tourism" is a carbon reduction environmental trend around the world. Over the past few years, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) has promoted bicycle tourism activities as an excellent way for the world to see first hand Taiwan's efforts to promote green and sustainable cities via cycling.
Today the “Crown Coast Fun Ride” event was held to explore northern Taiwan with low-carbon tourism and to kick off bicycle tourism. The VIP route ends at the dormitories of the newly renovated Wanli Guoshengpu, where visitors can admire the cycling tour scenery at 45 locations next to the beautiful coastal vistas. It took nearly a year for Northguan National Scenic Area to renovate the abandoned dormitories and it is hoped Guoshengpu will serve as a relay service base connecting Jinshan and Yehliu, boosting the development of tourism in the surrounding area. “Look at Rocks, Listen to Shapes” Art Exhibition will be open until 2023/1/2.
The event also invited green enterprises, cycling groups and the public to take part. The Northguan National Scenic Area organized a series of fun itineraries including inviting professional cyclists to serve as guides, connecting with featured stores in the Crown Coast Sightseeing Circle, guiding visitors on tours of Yehliu Geopark, enjoying roasted sweet potatoes, visiting Jinshan Wanli hot springs, local ancient houses, neighborhood cultural sites and Sanzhi Visitor Center etc.
