After it took over Heping Island Park in 2016, the Administration has entrusted the park’s operations to contractors, based on the Act for Promotion of Private Participation in Infrastructure Projects. In the past few years, it has not only invested a huge sum for refurbishment, but also introduced corporate management to provide diversified services that include fine dining, smart sightseeing, and environmental education.
This year, the Administration registered itself for the 19th Golden Thumb Awards for Private Participation in Infrastructure Projects. As a result, it received the Excellence Prize in the public-agency category - the only awarded unit under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications. In the future, it will take natural conservation as top priority, followed by academic research, while still doing eco-friendly businesses. The goal is to make Heping Island and international-level sustainable tourist island.
