2011 North Coast Art Festival carried out by New Taipei City Government will take place in Baisha Bay of Shimen, Qianshui Bay of Sanzhi, and Shimen Kite Park on 9/24~9/25 and 10/1~10/2. The festival includes kite-flying performances, choreography, a kite fair, and local venders.
The kite-flying performers come from different countries in North America, West Europe, South East Asia, North East Asia, and Australia. The artistic kite by Peter Lynn, “Giant Caterpillar” by an Indonesian group, and “Horse Carriage” by Xiou-Hu Lee from China will be shown in the sky above the beach of Baisha Bay during the festival.
The Choreography performances are planned to be at Baisha Bay and Qianshui Bay. Salsa, tap dance, belly dance, ballet, jazz, modern dance will definitely fulfill your visual entertainment.
The art festival this year inherits the theme of Shimen Kite Festival which was renown internationally in the past years and pluses various types of minor activities. The spirit of the festival is to promote the kite-flying as a feature recreational activity in the North Coast and to increase chances to meet kite-flying experts from all over the world.
