Senior Citizen Travelers on the North Coast Shore

In order to meet the demand of the increasing senior citizen travelers, North Coast and Guanyinshan National Area Administration, Tourism Bureau, MOTC has organized a route for the seniors to have a casual tour.   With an aim to allowing the senior citizens to take advantage of the easily accessible transportation system, to enjoy hot springs, and to taste delicious local foods, North Coast and Guanyinshan National Area Administration has integrated the scenic sites such as the GEO Yeliu geological park, Jinshan and Wanli Hot Spring Zone, Jinshan Shitoushan Mountain Park, as well as local healthy food business, to provide the senior citizens with a trip full of leisure.  The route, following the mottos of “to live happily and to enjoy the life healthily,” has been chosen by the Tourism Bureau of MOTC as one of the four best travelling routes for the seniors throughout the island of Taiwan.

Jinshan and Wanli Hot Spring Zone on the North Coast shore embraces a variety of hot springs that contain four different kinds of chemicals, which are suitable for the health of senior citizens.  Besides dipping the hot springs, the senior citizens will have the chance to sightsee in the international famous Yeliu GEO Park and to take a walk in the near-by Shitoushan Mountain Park to watch the double candle islets off the shore and to enjoy other unique landscapes.  The walking trails, such as those ones located inside the Shitoushan Mountain, are paved with wood shreds, which are said to hold the good fortunes and is the first “non-smoking” trail in the New Taipei City.   Sauntering on the path, the visitors can relax and feel the care-free atmosphere, with the companionships of Buddhist statues, some solemn and some intriguing, all are waiting to be felt and sensed by the visitors.

If feeling tired, the visitors are advised to sit in the featured cafes to have an order of afternoon tea and cakes, and the above mentioned scenic spots are all accessible with the easy-to-ride “Taiwan Easy Go Bus.”  This route is suitable for all senior citizens who do not drive or who just want to have a casual tour by taking the shuttle bus.
