2018 North Coast summer fests

1. Jinshan Sulfuric Fire Fishing Festival:

  • Date: July 21(Sat.)
  • Time: 18:30-21:00
  • Location: Jinshan Beach (beside No. 326, Huanggang Road, Jinshan District, New Taipei City)
  • Content: The traditional “sulfuric fire fishing” will be performed. Visitors can appreciate it from the shores. An open fair and a music concert will be held at Sunset time.
  • Admission: free
  • Shuttle bus route: Jinshan Youth Center (bus stop is by the center gate) → Fengyu Neighborhood Parking → Jiatou Neighborhood (stopping by 7-11) → Jinshan District Office (in front of the home for elders) → Jinshan Post Office → Zhongshan Hall Parking Space at Jinshan Old Street (facing a pavilion) → Jinshan Fishermen’s Association

2. Heping Island Earth Music Festival:

  • Date: Aug 4(Sat.)
  • Time: 18:00-20:30
  • Content: The festival will first be unveiled by the Inauguration of Heping Island Park and the announcement of the Ten Guardian Rocks of Alabao Bay, followed by a pop music concert and an earth music festival. There will also be an open fair, water activities, and intertidal-zone ecological guided tours.
  • On August 4, by clocking in on Heping Island Park’s Facebook page and tag 2 friends, the user can visit the park for free.
  • Shuttle bus routes: 1. Heping Island Park → National Taiwan Ocean University → Bisha Fishery Port → Heping Island Tourist Fishery Market 2. Keelung Train Station (south) → Heping Island Park

Day tour:

  1. 08:30-10:30: An in-depth guided tour is provided to 360 visitors only. Please line up on site on the day of the event. “Line-up cards” which have numbers will be distributed from 8am on. The tour will be held at the mysterious Alabao Bay.
  2. One intertidal-zone ecological tour will be held at 11:00 and 15:00 for free, at 20 participants each. Please register on site.
  3. 13:00-17:00: Rock! Jingang (a welcome party for “Jingang Rock”)
  4. 16:00-18:00: Picnic under a starry sky - 20 picnic mats may be borrowed for free.

Night tour:
08:00-20:00: 12 hours of activities by the water area. Night-time water fun may be enjoyed for the first time. Note: For details of the tours held on August 4, please call staff members at the Heping Island Park Service Counter at +886-2-2463-5452Heping Island Park’s website

 

3. Dawulun Star Feast

  • Date: July 22 (Sun.) and August 12 (Sun.)
  • Time: 19:00-21:00
  • Location: Dawulun Fort Parking Space, Keelung
  • Content: Working with Keelung Municipal Wulun Junior High School, guided tours and telescope observations on the much anticipated “mars opposition” and “perseids” will be held, as led by professional instructors from the Taipei Amateur Astronomer Association. No advance registration is required. Visitors may take part freely. This event is held to boost night-time tourism in Keelung.
  • Shuttle route: The bus stop in Lane 208, Jijin First Road (by McDonalds) → Lover’s Lake Branch, Keelung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital → Lovers’ Lake Park Parking Lot → Dawulun Fort Parking Lot
  • Shuttle bus is available every 30 minutes from 18:00 to 21:30, departing from the bus stop in Lane 208, Jijin First Road (by McDonalds) and going straight to Dawulun Fort Parking Lot.

Car parking:

  1. Parking spaces are available on both sides of Lane 208, Jijin First Road. From there, take a shuttle bus to go to the site.
  2. Parking spaces are available at Lovers’ Lake Park. From there, take a shuttle bus to go to the site.
  3. Parking spaces are available at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (Lovers’ Lake Branch). From there, take a shuttle bus to go to the site.

Motorcycle parking:

  1. Parking spaces are available at Lovers’ Lake Park. From there, take a shuttle bus to go to the site.
  2. Parking spaces are available at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (Lovers’ Lake Branch, Lane 208, Jijin First Road). From there, take a shuttle bus to go to the site.
  3. Provisional parking spaces may also be found at Dawulun Fort. From there, simply walk to the site.
