Plant Taiwan's Own Flowers, Protect Taiwan's Indigenous Flora, Successfully Finding Taiwanese Lilies Lecture and Ecological Restoration!

Heping Island is located on the northeast side of Keelung Harbor. The sandstone coast has been impacted by long-term weathering and sea erosion. Visitors can view indigenous "Taiwanese Lilies" beside the rocky slope.

On November 10, 2011, Jk-Goods International Co., Ltd., the management team of Heping Island Park in Northguan National Scenic Area and lecturer Luo Ming-yung, from Taiwan Lily Studio, organized the "Planting Taiwan's Own Flowers - Finding Taiwanese Lilies Lecture and Ecological Restoration" event. This called on local residents, Alabao Bay tribe members and more than 30 members of the public to learn about the growth characteristics, planting and reproduction methods of the Taiwanese Lily, and together plant nearly 1,800 Taiwanese Lily seedlings in Alabao Bay.

Northguan National Scenic Area Director Chen Meixiu planted Taiwanese Lilies in Alabao Bay with the participants. The director reminded visitors to enjoy the flowers but not to pick them, in the hope that the Taiwanese Lily will reproduce its beautiful whiteness along the coast and on hillsides.
