Organized by the Northguan Scenic Area Headquarters, the “2026 Yehliu Night Tours: See the Queen’s Head Illuminated at Night” event will take place daily from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. between June 28 (Sunday) and July 12 (Sunday), 2026 at Yehliu Geopark. On June 26, the Northguan Scenic Area Headquarters held a press conference in Taipei, showcasing the spectacular “Dual Queens” of Yehliu through immersive panoramic projection technology and announcing the official opening of the Yehliu Nighttime Landscape Art Museum. Discounted advance tickets have been available online since 12:00 p.m. on June 1, 2026, inviting both domestic and international visitors to experience this enchanting nighttime light art spectacle at Yehliu.
The Tourism Administration (under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications) stated that “Yehliu Night Tours: See the Queen’s Head Illuminated at Night” event has been held annually since 2018 and has been included as one of the major international-level events in the Administration’s Taiwan Tourism Events Calendar. By integrating Yehliu’s distinctive natural rock formations with contemporary digital light art, the event creates a romantic midsummer nighttime atmosphere. Over the years, the event has received numerous international design awards, including Winner in the category “Excellent Communications Design Event” at the 2026 German Design Award and the Gold Award in the category “Innovation in Campaign - Event Campaign” at the 2025 TITAN Innovation Awards (USA), demonstrating its artistic value and growing international recognition. This year’s event not only features collaborative works created by professional artists and local students, but also marks the Northguan Scenic Area Headquarters’ first cross-sector collaboration with the Administration for Digital Industries (under the Ministry of Digital Affairs) through the launch of the National Digital Art Open Call Project, embodying the creative vision that “everyone can be a curator.” To welcome visitors from overseas, a special promotion has also been introduced for international visitors: those who purchase an admission ticket may present their passport on-site to redeem one limited-edition commemorative gift while supplies last. Through this digital art festival, the Northguan Scenic Area Headquarters hopes to further promote the geological attractions, art, culture, hot springs, cuisine, and specialty products of the Crown Coast, while stimulating the region’s nighttime economy.
Centered on the theme “Tidal Gallery: Yehliu Dual Queens, Living Legacy,” this year’s event transforms Yehliu Geopark into an immersive nighttime landscape art museum. Five themed lighting areas connect the park’s iconic Queen’s Head with its new-generation landmark, the Cute Princess, creating an intergenerational dialogue transcending time and space. Visitors begin their journey at the Tidal Gallery, which welcomes them into a summer night exhibition. The Starry Tide Light Realm, located in the Simulation Area, combines artistic collaboration with immersive lighting to present captivating interpretations of the Dual Queens. In the Cute Princess Area, The Princess’ Studio transforms rock cliffs into a giant canvas, featuring a projection-mapping animation titled “A Legacy of the Dual Queens.” Blending the delicate brushstrokes of local schoolchildren with those of professional artists, the installation transforms the natural landscape into a vivid visual narrative. At the LiYing Lake Area, the LiYing Illusion Realm creates a tranquil and romantic immersive atmosphere that guides visitors toward the Queen’s Canvas in the Queen’s Head Area, where the creative expressions of renowned artists reinterpret the Queen’s timeless beauty.
