From August 7 to 31, 2019, as long as visitors upload pictures taken with the festival’s flag at the six visitor centers of the North Coast (Guanyinshan, Sanzhi, Baisha Bay, Jinshan, Yehliu, and Heping Island) to the Administration’s Facebook fan page, they can get limited-edition special gifts. Free cooling towels are also distributed to those who try seaweed jelly at the seven participating ice dessert shops, take pictures, and upload them to the page.
Seaweed jelly is not to be missed when visiting the North Coast in the summer. The kind of jelly made with “phoenix-tail” seaweed and pickled plums is the best. There are also seaweed dumplings with fruit fillings which can only be found in Shimen. Seaweed jelly ice with seasonal fruits is also worth a try. Come to the North Coast for some cooling desserts on a hot summer day!
