“2026 Yehliu Night Tours: See the Queen’s Head Illuminated at Night” Brings Together Artists and the Public to Create a Light-and-Shadow Celebration of “Yehliu Dual Queens, Living Legacy”

The “2026 Yehliu Night Tours: See the Queen’s Head Illuminated at Night,” organized by the Northguan Scenic Area Headquarters (referred to below as “the Headquarters”), held its opening ceremony at Yehliu Geopark on June 28. Under this year’s theme, “Tidal Gallery: Yehliu Dual Queens, Living Legacy,” the event unites art and digital technology to transform Yehliu Geopark into a nighttime landscape art gallery.

Now in its eighth year, the “Yehliu Night Tours: See the Queen’s Head Illuminated at Night” event continues to showcase Yehliu’s distinctive geological landscape while transforming its static rock formations into a dynamic stage. This year’s event embodies the spirit that “everyone can be a curator,” bringing together creative works by members of the public, local elementary and junior high school students and teachers, and master artists. Their works are presented as physical objects or projection mapping in the “Tidal Gallery” entrance zone, the “Starry Tide Light Realm” replica zone, the “Princess’ Studio” Cute Princess zone, and “The Queen’s Canvas” Queen’s Head zone, enabling visitors to appreciate Yehliu’s geological wonders from an artistic perspective.

Mateusz Bzowka, producer of the Polish edition of Vogue, one of the world’s most prestigious fashion and lifestyle magazines, and his team visited Taiwan on June 30 and July 1 to photograph the unique landscape of Yehliu Geopark and promote its beauty to people around the world. On the same day, Minister of Transportation and Communications Chen Shih-kai also attended the event, witnessing this international art festival and helping Taiwan’s natural wonders shine brilliantly at night.

The park recommends that visitors follow the route from the “Tidal Gallery” entrance zone to the “Starry Tide Light Realm” replica zone, the “Princess’ Studio” Cute Princess zone, the “LiYing Illusion Realm” in the Liying Lake zone, and finally “The Queen’s Canvas” Queen’s Head zone. Using light and shadow as its medium and the natural landscape as its canvas, each illuminated zone interweaves music and technology, allowing visitors to experience the creative energy of artistic co-creation across generations as they stroll through the park.
