Zhilan Park’s oceanic viewing platform was once highly popular during the summer at the North Coast. Eroded by ocean water, it was however demolished upon expert evaluation, due to safety concerns. Recently, the central and the local governments have set up a new platform (3x57 square meters) together with wavy protective railings. Local artist Hu Tung-min and environmental aestheticist Chen Chun-liang also created a romantic ring-shaped installation as a new travel highlight. Visitors are free to ride bicycles here and feel caressed by summer breezes. They may also enjoy coffee and snacks at Qianshui Bay Shopping District and watch the bay’s sunset.
