For the promotion of the “Green Destination Certification and Participation Program (GD-ACP),” Northguan National Scenic Area held a “Sustainable Tourism Vision Discussion Conference” attended by Professor Guo Chengmeng, Honorary Chairman of Taiwan Ecotourism Association, Professor Guo Qiongying, Chairman and Dean of the Department of Landscape Architecture, CCU, Professor Lin Junquan, Department of Geography, NTU, and Professor Liu Xilin of the Graduate Institute of Tourism Management of NKUHT and the Director of the Crown Coast Tourist Circle Project.
While promoting sustainable tourism and green tourism destinations, important tasks discussed at the meeting included how to integrate the inputs of stakeholders such as business operators and local residents. Based on sustainable development, environmental ecology, social culture, local economy and sustainable management, the goal was to jointly outline a sustainable vision and goals for local development, while proposing a differentiated developmental vision and strategy that makes use of the uniqueness of the Crown Coast.
Director Chen Meixiu expects sustainable tourism to flourish on the Crown Coast. The Northguan National Scenic Area has formed a partnership with business operators, local groups and local residents who will work together to promote a shared, prosperous and mutually beneficial tourism environment.
