Since the start of this year, the tourism industry has been much affected by COVID-19. To avoid cluster infection as advised by the Central Epidemic Command Center, most people have canceled their overseas travel plans, and they look for destinations in Taiwan instead. As a result, small-group tours are also becoming highly popular amidst the disease outbreak. Thus, the North Coast and Guanyinshan National Scenic Area Administration for the first time assisted travel agencies in joining Taiwan Tour Bus, and launched three new bus routes that focus on one-day tours to Guanyinshan and Heping Island. The buses are available daily. Those who make reservations before the end of May will get a “buy 4 get 1 free” special offer, in addition to limited-edition free gifts!
In promotion of the 2020 Year of Mountain Tourism and in continuation of the Year of Small Town Tourism in 2019, the Administration assisted Chung Hsing Travel Service and Best Travel in joining Taiwan Tour Bus. Three routes for one-day tours were added as a result. The Administration noted that there are six routes for half-day and one-day tours within the region now. Visitors may register in advance and easily hop on the bus at Taipei Main Station or Taipei Songshan Airport, or enjoy pick-up services from downtown hotels. On the bus, professional guides will lead visitors to learn about the scenic spots along the routes. As a thoughtful gesture, audio guides in multiple languages and free WiFi are also available. Without a car, visitors can easily explore nature through Guanyinshan’s forest trails; go hiking at the challenging Yinghan Hill; find the “10 Protective Rocks” such as Sphinx Rock and Seal Rock in Heping Island Park; soak up in Taiwan’s only ocean-water swimming pool on a hot summer day; appreciate famous strange rocks such as Queen’s Head, Naughty Prince, and Candle Rocks; watch Candle Rocks on the sea from Jinshan’s Shitoushan Park; and take hot spring baths. The Administration requests the staff members of Taiwan Tour Bus to implement all necessary measures against COVID-19, such as sterilizing buses, checking drivers’ body temperature, and asking drivers to wear face masks. The goal is to make passengers feel assured while they are on the bus.
