"2023 Hotai TOYOTA Group Beach Cleaning and Plastic Reduction Mobilization Campaign" was held simultaneously at 16 locations across Taiwan. Fang Zhengguang, director of the Northguan National Scenic Area Administration, and General Manager of Kuotu Motor Co., Ltd. rolled up his sleeves with participants to pick up litter along the coast. The North Coast event called for more than 1,500 people to participate in the beach cleaning activity. For each person who took part, Hotai Group donated NT$50 to non-profit organizations. About 1,800 kg of manmade waste was cleared in the beach cleaning event with Hotai TOYOTA Group. According to preliminary analysis, the content was mainly plastic waste, such as floats, fishing gear, plastic bottles and Styrofoam, which accounted for 60% of the total.
Beach cleaning is continuous and ongoing work. It relies on simultaneous mechanical and manual operations to keep the coastline clean and beautiful. Schools, private enterprises and groups are welcome to participate in public volunteer beach and mountain cleaning to help maintain a beautiful and safe recreational space.
As a result of the beach cleaning and plastic reduction event, 1,800 kg of litter was removed from Baishawan Beach.
