In order to create a friendly environment in Heping Island Park, North Guan National Scenic Area has worked to optimize trails in and around Alabao Bay, levelling the trail surface, and updating the surface of the walkways so it blends perfectly with the natural Taiwan lily and tofu rock landscape to offer a more comfortable walking experience. As part of the “Marine Observation Geopark - Keelung Heping Island Park Renewal” project launched by North Guan National Scenic Area, Heping Island Park has introduced new park entrances. It also has parking areas and a bus stop, Muchun overlook platform, a visitor center, swimming pool and other facilities in an environment that has been greatly upgraded. The park also received a Svayam Accessibility Award 2018, and an Outstanding Award and Annual Award at the 9th TILA Landscape Awards (Scenic Recreation Category).
Alabao Bay is known for having the most beautiful sunrise in the world. It is located in a rock control area on Heping Island Park and open to reserved guided tours from May to September every year.
