National Museum of Marine Science and Technology (NMMST)

Located in Zhongzheng District of Keelung City, the museum leans against mountains and faces the sea. Shenao Line of Taiwan Railways passes by and the surroundings are fairly graceful. The museum is equipped with nine exhibition halls which introduce marine environs and marine science. School students and families are the main visitors here. The museum takes a range of perspectives to present oceans. Through top-notch interactive displays and edutainment facilities, visitors can learn about marine science, natural ecology, and Keelung’s culture. Fulfilling display, education, research, collection and leisure purposes all at once, the museum aims to bring people closer to the sea, and learn about it and treat it well. National Museum of Marine Science and Technology aims to use these marine resources sustainably.

Fun Facts

Located on the east side of Keelung Badou Zi area, west of Badou Zi, Bisha Fishing Port, east of the Northeast Coast Scenic Area, there are Provincial Highway 2 (the Coastal Highway) and Taiwan Railways Australian branch after dark. Existing base of about 48 hectares to build a museum, mountains and the sea, the environment is very beautiful.

The museum is divided into themes the museum facilities and research and landscape facilities, theme pavilion area planning facilities include: marine science and technology theme exhibition hall, exhibition hall marine ecosystems (Aquarium), marine theater.

  • Take Keelung city busy No. 103 toward Badauzhi. Take off on the bus stop of "Clear Water Lane."

  1. Zhongshan Expressway → Keelung end → Zhongzheng Road → n → Cheung Fung Fung Street, Beining Street→ → → Ocean University Bisha Fishing Port → (after Xinfeng Street left) fishing Street Harbour Street, turn right, turn left → → fishing Second Street, turn left → National Museum of marine Science and Technology (parking area).
  2. Zhongshan Expressway→ Dahua System Interchange → (to vinorelbine) Provincial Highway 62 Expressway→Provincial Highway 2 Coastal Highway, turn left (toward Keelung)→ Shen ao→ Beining (after 369 lane to the right) → National Museum of Marine Science and Technology Museum (marine theater parking lot)
  3. Zhongshan Expressway → Dahua System Interchange → (to vinorelbine) Provincial Highway 62 Expressway→ (after Rueifang to the right) Badou Zi ramp → reconcile Street → Beining (after the right turn left) →National Museum of Marine Science and Technology (Ocean theater parking lot)
