Shimen Cave, standing by Provincial Highway 2, is a popular clock-in site among visitors. It is also the region’s most famous landmark. Etched by waves and lifted by earth movements, today, the cave features a 10-meter-tall arch. The coastal hiking trail and scenic platform here provide beautiful views of the vast ocean. Visitors are free to listen to the sounds of waves and take as many pictures. This section is so unique that many visitors are reluctant to go home. Shimen Cave allows visitors to feel relaxed while enjoying the vast sky and the ocean, and even to have a look at its precious natural ecology. To discover Shimen’s diversified nature, we suggest doing ecological observations by a tide pool according to tidal time.
