The Fulong Mountain Mountain Pathway, approximately 1,315 meters in length, constitutes the initial segment of the historic “Guanyin Ancient Path.” Along this route, hikers can visit the “Lingyun Temple of Kaishan” and, at the trail’s end, the “Lingyun Zen Temple.” Due to the construction of Lingyun Road, the trail is now divided into two sections. The entrance to the first section is located next to No. 41, Section 3, Lingyun Road, extending about 400 meters. This portion of the trail follows a small stream, offering the soothing sounds of flowing water and lush vegetation. The section is relatively flat, providing an easy and enjoyable walk. It concludes at Hongxing Free-Range Chicken Restaurant (first parking lot). From there, hikers can continue along a 700-meter paved road (Township Road N-53-1) to reach the entrance to the second section.
The entire ancient path is paved with stone steps, flanked by verdant plant life and towering trees that intertwine overhead, enhancing the serene and tranquil atmosphere. This setting enriches the experience for visitors to the ancient temples, fostering a sense of reverence and solemnity.
Midway along the trail stands the quaint “Lingyun Temple of Kaishan.” Continuing upward along the peaceful path leads to the “Lingyun Zen Temple,” which houses the largest indoor statue of the “Thousand-Hand Thousand-Eye Guanyin Bodhisattva” in Taiwan. Behind the Zen temple, a floral corridor enshrines statues of Guanyin that once stood along the ancient path. Originally, there were 33 statues; however, over time, only a few of the rustic stone carvings remain, their weathered appearances bearing witness to the passage of years.
The trail concludes between the front and rear halls of the Zen temple. For those with ample stamina, it is possible to connect to the “Jianshan Trail” from here, continuing on to “Yingzhi Jianshan” and the “Jianshan Peaks.”
Alternatively, hikers can choose to descend via the “Yinghanling Trail” located behind Lingyun Zen Temple, near the Kaishan Courtyard, and then connect to the “Fengguidouhu Trail.” This route completes a circular journey through the Guanyinshan Trail System.
