Zhilan Park Ocean Viewing Platform

Zhilan Park Ocean Viewing Platform is located at 16K of Danjin Highway (Provincial Highway 2), right beside Sanzhi’s Shuanwan Bikeway. An old platform was built in 1992, featured by a double-layer structure which linked to a hiking trail and Qianshui Bay Beach. The platform was the North Coast’s popular summer attraction and a famous wedding photography site. Due to marine erosion, however, the old platform was demolished in 2015.

Upon professional assessment and taking endurance and safety as priority, a new platform was set up at the old site. With joint effort from the central and local governments, local artists such as Hu Tung-min, and environment aesthetics expert Chen Chun-liang, a 3-meter tall, 43-meter long hiking trail was built, plus a romantic viewing platform by the sea which is perfect for watching sunset. Visitors are encouraged to watch the North Coast at dusk while feeling embraced by ocean breezes at the platform.

Fun Facts

The sky and the ocean are vast, open and blue here. Wedding photographers like to take their clients here, and so do young couples. The crystal ring installation, which looks like a shining jewel on the sea, as well as the locally-inspired art decorations, make this place especially romantic. The wave-inspired cast railings are made with environment-friendly materials.
