Leaning against mountains and the sea, Jinshan and Wanli have plenty of natural resources. The two areas produce many agricultural products, too. Also, the Datun Volcanoes have bestowed Jishan and Wanli with high-quality hot springs.
In the hot-spring ridden areas, several hundred years ago, people already noticed that the springs popping up from beneath the ground could heal wounds and skin diseases. They saw the springs as “medical water.” Until the Japanese Rule, the Japanese introduced the bathhouse culture to Taiwan. In Jinshan, they discovered more sources of hot springs and built a few bathhouses. This turned the springs into water for leisure purposes.
