Twin Candlestick Islets

Audio Guide

Candle Holder Islets is hailed as one of the Eight Wonders of Jinshan. 60 meters above the sea level, they used to be the tip of Huanggang Peninsula. With the area rising up from under the sea, the islets eventually broke away from the peninsula. And eroded by constant waves, their underneath caves gradually turned into arches. After the top of the arches toppled, sea stacks took shape. Above the water surface, the formations now look like a pair of candle holders, and thus they are called Candle Holder Islets.

Zhongzheng Pavilion at the end of the area’s trail is perfect for taking pictures of the Candle Holder Islets and coastal views. No matter looking at the far distance or looking down, Jinshan’s wide range of geological formations can be well enjoyed at this vast open site.
